In 2021, the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) in collaboration with the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) created a 5-part series entitled Geo-Enabling Elections that was previously available on CTCL’s learning management system. This series is now available here, on the Election Learning Lab.

The courses in this series are self-paced and can be taken in any order but we recommend taking them in order from 101 to 105 because the information in each successive course builds on the foundation from the previous ones.

This is the first course in the series. By the end of this course, you should be able to:

• Identify local and state partners to support your future GIS work and goals
• Prioritize initial conversation topics with partners to set your team up for success
• Communicate the benefits of partnering with peer offices on GIS projects

This course should take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
